Reed Diffuser - Correct placement for Maximum Benefit

No one thing determines the strength of fragrance in a room, but some factors that can affect it include:

The size of the room

The temperature of the room

The airflow in the room

The choice and number of reeds

Your choice of base

Your choice of fragrance.

Reed diffusers draw the mixture up the reed, which then evaporates into the air in the room. The mixture evaporates quicker if there is more airflow or the room is warmer.

The more reeds you have, the stronger the scent in the room. However, the more reeds you have, the quicker the diffuser oil will be used up. You can remove some of the reeds if the scent is too strong.

Different types of reeds can also affect your diffuser; for example, bamboo reeds contain nodules, which can hinder the scent from travelling up the reed. Rattan or fibre reeds are often the best choices to ensure your scent is released well.

Some people think you need to add a lot of fragrance to your reed diffuser, but that’s not the case. At Pamper Me Designer Oils, we trialled some of our fragrance oils as diffusers and found that 15% for a large open-plan room was more than strong enough. Careful placement of your reed diffuser is essential to ensure you get the most out of your product.

We recommend you place a reed diffuser:

Somewhere high up

In an open room

Out of direct sunlight

Away from children or pets
