Wax Melts - how to determine their Fragrance

"Did you know there are three individual notes that combine to make the overall smell of a wax melt?

Top notes – These are the scents you first smell when the wax is melting. Top notes tend to be clean, fresh or citrus fragrances.

Mid notes – Mid notes are known as the heart of the fragrance because they form a large percentage of the overall smell. You’ll typically notice the mid notes around 15 minutes after melting the wax.

Base notes – The base notes help to round the fragrance off after the wax melt is left to cool. These are often soothing scents such as musk, wood or patchouli.

Before making your own wax melts, it’s important to check each note complements the others. If you don’t, you may be left with a ‘top note heavy’ smell that disappears relatively quickly
